The Lady Chapel
To the south of the Chancel, the Lady Chapel has a fine oak roof, restored in 1953 and bearing the monogram E11R to commemorate the Queen's coronation. It is a fine example of perpendicular tie-beam and has been expertly restored.
On the east wall, one can see how the chapel has been extended from one of the old buttresses, and just inside the screen under the rood loft stairs there is a small decorated column which is probably the remains of the priest's door into the old church.
The memorial plaque in Westmorland slate is by Martin Harvey.
The finely carved altar-table bears the date 1633, the standard candlesticks are of 17th century design, the reredos is by Talbot Brown and the ornaments by Knight of Wellingborough.
The aumbry in the south-wall is 14th century and also the niche above it, although the fabric itself is of the later perpendicular period.

The East Window
This Victorian window was given by William Gill in 1880. The artist was Frederick Drake of Exeter, and is a good example of the work of that period. It depicts the Four Evangelists with their symbols. The Good Shepherd and in the top traceries are other symbols of the Apostles.

Yorke Memorial Window
R. E. Yorke was the owner of a local boot and shoe factory and it is appropriate that this memorial depicts the patron Saints of that industry, St. Crispin and St. Crispinian. It was designed and made by Jean Barilett of Paris in 1962. The top centre tracery has the white rose of York, then follow the tools of the shoe-making industry and beneath that symbols of martyrdom - looking from left to right, Palms, Flaming Torches, Crowns, Block and Axe, Sword and Chain. The main part of the window depicts the martyrdom of the two Saints on the left, Arms of the Guild of Shoemakers, and the Boat carrying the relics of the Saints, shipwrecked on the coast of England. On the right hand side is the Madonna and Child of the Martyrs and on the left and centre, the two Saints at work and preaching.

Memorial Window to the Parents and Sister of Ellen Rose Sanders

Constance Chapman Memorial Window
Designed by John Piper and made by Patrick Reyntiens in 1969. This is a unique, highly controversial, work of art.
In the words of John Piper himself "It is what you make it to be".

Oberammergau Cross
The large crucifix was made by the Lang family in Oberammergau.
